WELCOME all new members!  We are happy to have each & every one of you at Post 54.  It would be nice to see you attend one of our monthly meetings so we can get to know you.  The Post meets on the 3rd Tuesday at 7pm beginning in September. 


We are always looking for new members to get involved with our organization.  If you want to join LOCAL VETERANS WORKING TO HELP VETERANS and our COMMUNITY, then you may want to check us out.  If you know someone who is interested in joining our organization, bring them down to the Post to meet with us.

To be eligible to join The American Legion, a man or woman must have served at least one day of active duty in one of the armed forces of the United States during one of the eligibility eras:

  • World War II - December 7, 1941 to December 31, 1946
  • Korea - June 25, 1950 to January 31, 1955
  • Vietnam - February 28, 1961 to May 7, 1975
  • Lebanon & Grenada - August 24, 1982 to July 31, 1984
  • Panama - December 20, 1989 to January 31, 1990
  • Persian Gulf - August 2, 1990 to the date of cessation of hostilities as determined by the Government of the United States (This means that all military personnel now on active duty are eligible for membership in The American Legion).

Current and past members of the National Guard and Reserve may also be eligible for membership provided that they had periods of at least four months of duration for training in one or another of the aforementioned eligibility eras. Annual summer camps and weekend drills do not constitute eligible periods of service. Active duty is the key to Legion membership. A person need not have served overseas to be eligible, but must possess an Honorable Discharge with a form DD-214.

We are looking for & welcome new members to strengthen our Post..."Veteran Strong"... , help support our programs, ensure that the Post's long & rich history is extended and to enjoy the many fun events that  we all share at Post 54 throughout the year.  If you are a Veteran, maybe it's   time for you to consider getting involved !!!

  To become a member of the Sons of the American Legion you need to be a son or a grandson of an eligible Veteran. membership requires that you have an immediate relative that is an eligible Veteran. 

To be eligible for the Legion Riders you must (1) be a member of one of the Americana Legion organizations previously listed above and (2) own a motorcycle.


    If you are a current member and have not yet renewed your membership, please do so soon.  If you    are an eligible Veteran who is considering joining our Post, please come to the post and introduce yourself or contact 1 of our Post officers.  We welcome  you.
